The monthly woodturning club meeting begins with a meet and greet and a Show-and-Tell at 9:30 am. The regular meeting begins at 10:00 am and ends by 12:00 pm.
Each meeting starts with a review of current club activities and discussion of various club matters. We then hold a club demonstration.
Show-and-Tell is your opportunity to bring and discuss your latest project or work-in-progress. You can also chat and share woodturning experiences with other members before the regular meeting starts. There is always something new to see and learn.
Prospective members are welcome to come and see what we're all about. Be sure to introduce yourself to one of our club officers. We'll be happy to answer all of your questions.

Demonstration – Turning a Canteen-Style Bud Vase
This month’s demonstration will cover turning a canteen-style bud vase, an unusual project that combines spindle turning, faceplate work, hollowing, and careful mounting techniques.
The vase features a flattened circular body with contrasting front and back surfaces and a small flared neck. The demonstration will go through the process from preparing the blank and establishing the basic shape to creating the recessed faces, hollowing the interior, and turning the neck. We’ll also look at the mounting and chucking methods needed to safely turn the piece from several different orientations—one of the more interesting challenges of this project.
This is a good intermediate-to-advanced project that demonstrates techniques that can also be applied to flasks, canteens, hollow forms, and other multi-axis or re-mounted turnings.
And, of course, there will be plenty of opportunity for questions throughout the demonstration.
